Age: 300
DOB: Sept 13th, 1723
Gender: Male — Cis — He/Him
Species: Vampire
Height: 6'4”
Occupation/Livelihood: Ally/Volunteer for Crown, typically assists field agents in difficult captures.
Personality: Very laid-back, although he can appear somewhat stony and unapproachable due to the naturally sunken-in and sickly look of his face. Regarding his opinion on humans and feeding, he's somewhere between "seeing feeding as a necessarily evil" and "taking pleasure in the hunt", usually dependent on how much said human pisses him off. He has somewhat of a moral compass compared to more bloodthirsty vampires, largely due to the sympathy of having been hunted at length himself—while he doesn't voluntarily dabble in others' long-standing conflicts, he'll usually step in and aid those being antagonized by other supernatural creatures or repay favors done for him in kind.
Biography: Born as a single child to vampire parents in somewhat-recently-settled New England, he lived in an estate precariously seated in the heart of highly Puritan territory, his parents having managed to find a seat in an equally precarious high status among them. The humans in that area were on the cusp of a revolution, and thus, were highly agitated and distrustful, leading to an eventual fatal slip-up that lead to his whole family being exposed as vampires. After a scuffle in which the three were ambushed and overwhelmed, his father was killed and his mother commanded him to run—so, he did.
In fact, for the next couple of centures, 'running' would come to be his default state of being. He would often hop from state to state, living there a few decades before moving somewhere else to avoid detection. At some point in the mid-1900s, he stayed put in Ohio and studied for a medical license for access to blood banks, which he could use to feed without the risk factor that semi-frequent murders entailed. This worked for a little while, and it was the longest he ever stayed put in one place. However, the invention of security cameras eventually caught up to him, and he was barred for life from practicing medically in several states, forced to flee again.
Currently, he's once again in a somewhat stable position, having come under the Rhode Island wing of Crown after helping a pair of field agents a number of times in difficult captures. His current home is now in Parch City, and for the first time in a while, seems perfectly content to stay put and build a life for himself with his newfound support network.
Abilities: Superhuman Strength— An inherent power of his brand of undead, he's nigh-unshakeable in the face of blows from a normal human, and extremely sturdy even when up against other supernatural beings. His claws are capable of crushing steel, punching holes through buildings, and reducing lesser beings to nothing but scraps of meat and bone.
Black / Unholy Magic— Levitation, telepathy, force-grabs, all that jazz. This is also an inherent power and comes second-nature to him. He often tamps down on this and keeps it concealed in his everyday life, so often times when he calls upon it, it causes a pulse of unease with him at the center, like the breaking of a seal. While using these powers, the whites and corneas of his eyes turn entirely red, and revert back when no longer using them.
Shapeshifting— His primary transformations are that of a large, black vampire bat with red eyes, and also into a billowing fog that can cover an area of 40-50ft. On a smaller scale, he can retract the sharp claws of his 'true' form and lighten the dark red of his eyes to something more in the shades of brown to better blend in with crowds.
Compelling / Mind Control— Kieran can control the minds of mortals, breaking through the barriers of their mind and influencing their actions for as long as he wishes to keep a hold over them. Given this ability, he is, himself, entirely immune to most forms of compelling, especially those that require a soul to infiltrate, given his... well, lack of one, as an undead. Whether or not he can compel other non-humans is largely variable and, in some cases, situational depending on the vulnerability of that being at the time he attempts to do it—if not able to completely control them, he can sometimes at least plant thoughts and impulses in their head that they may be inclined to act upon if already headed in that general direction.
Vampire Bite— Kieran has the ability to turn other humans into vampires with his bite. This is largely voluntary on his part, given the bite is only partly magical in nature and mainly dependent on the presence of undead venom stored within his fangs. He seldom, if ever chooses to turn a human on purpose, but accidents do—and have—happened.
